Located right along Alii Drive and overlooking Kailua Bay and all the Spinner Dolphins, Volcano Grill & Bar is a wonderful breakfast place (but now offers lunch and dinner!) with ample shade in the morning.  Pepper and I sat outside on bench type seats that had hardy pipe chair legs drilled into the concrete sidewalk, just perfect for buckling Pepper’s Alcott Weekender Leash to.  The service was quick and friendly.  Lots of common breakfast food items, I chose the Hawaiian Papaya with housemade granola and Greek yogurt.  It was good and filling.  They also have pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, steak and eggs, omelettes, loco moco, fried rice, and good 100% Kona coffee (I’m very particular about my coffee and drink it black).  Even on a hot August morning (We were there at 9:15 am), our table was completely shaded as were all the outdoor tables, and there was a pleasant breeze coming off the ocean where the Spinner Dolphins were doing their aerial acrobatics.  It was so spacious, and I didn’t feel like we were in anyone’s way.  It was such a wonderful breakfast experience, we will definitely be back!
